Panditharathnam K P Achutha Pisharody

Younger brother of Late Panditharatnam K P Narayana Pisharody, who lived  108 years , was a Sanskrit scholar who had dedicated his life to the teaching of Sanskrit Language. Born to Kodikkunnath Thrikkovil Pisharath Narayanikkutti Pisharasiar and Pudusseri Manackal Pasupathi Namboothiri on 5th April 1911(Thiruvathira Star in Meenam, Kollavarsham 1086)  , he started learning sanskrit from his own brother Narayana Pisharody and later joined  as a disciple of Punnasseri Nambi Neelakanda Sarma in his Saraswadodyothini Sanskrit Pathasala and passed out “Sahithya Shiromani”.

He started his teaching career in 1939 as a Sanskrit Teacher in Peringottukara School, Thriprayar and after working in half a dozen institutions he retired in 1970 from Devdhar High School, Thanur in Malappuram Dt. and continued to teach Sanskrit till 2019 at his home.

He is the recipient of Samoothiri Raja’s Kodikunnu  Devipuraskaram from  in 2011 and Vishwa Sankrit Prathishtan has conferred Panditharatnam title on him in 2012. He has also received Deviprasadam Award from OMC Trust(Olappamanna), Samoothiri Raja’s Revathi Pattathanam Award, Vachaspathi Award from Kadavalloor Anyonya Parishad, Acharya Puraskaram from Aluva Thanthra Vidya Peeth, Akshara Vandana Puraskaram from Alungal Mahadeva Temple, Prof Subbraraya Pattar Endowment Award .

He was the  Kulapathi of Pisharody Samajam  till his death.
