Thrikkail Pisharam situated in Varanthirappilly, is more than 80 years old. The inhabitant of the Pisharam was (Late) Gopala Pisharody and his family. The successors of Gopala Pisharody (children, grandchildren and their families) now settled in various places all over the world have together formed a Kudumba Sangamam `Vaishnavam’.
The 2nd Annual Meet of this gathering of reunion was grandly celebrated at `Bharatham’, the new residence of T.R.Jayan (eldest grandson of Gopala Pisharody) constructed very near to the Pisharam in Varanthirappilly, on the 31st of August 13 & 1st of September ’13. The Inaugural meet started on 31.8.2013 after dinner followed by a variety of cultural and entertainment programmes alongwith interesting and fun-filled games for children and all the family members.
In the Annual Meet on 1.9.2013, there were reminiscences about the Pisharam by the Family Members. All the family members extended full co-operation and enjoyed the Family Meet which was co-ordinated and organized in an excellent manner by the youth in the family. It was felt and appreciated by everyone that such Family Meets have become very essential to know each other in the family and also to spread and share the values of family bonding in the Nuclear Family era. The excitement and involvement of children in the youngest generation in the family was evident throughout the 2-day programme.
The youth in the family have also formed a Group `Vaishnavam’ in Facebook, through which they share their views and experiences every day to come more closer with each other in the Family.
Since the Joint Family System has now been abolished everywhere, such Family Meets could be emulated to spread the sweetness of sharing among the family members, particularly the children in the next generation.
