R.L.V. Damodara Pisharody of Thrippunithura is the favourite desciple of the great Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair – the doyen who was instrumental in popularising cultural Kerala’s pride art form “KATHAKALI”. Damodara Pisharody was born in 1939 to Attingal Manikantthapurathu pisharath Shivarama Pisharody and Puthrikkovil pisharath Lakshmikutty Pisharassiar. He completed his education and training in Kathakali from R.L.V. College of Music and Fine Arts, Thrippunithura. He has married Mahadevamangalathu Pisharath Sharada Pisharassiar. Damodara Pisharody has trained more than hundred disciples in Kathakali.
