Chowwara, a beautiful small village on the banks of the Periyar river, on the Aluva- Kalady bus  route in Ernakulam district is the head quarters of this unit. Ever since the beginning of the Pisharody Samajam in 1977, this is one of the two branches that has functioned without any hitch or trouble till this date. This branch has 21 life members and 282 ordinary members now.There are 15 patron members,14 life members and 192 ordinary members in the Pisharody Educational & Welfare Society through this branch and 95 subscribers  to "Thulaseedalam", the mouth organ of Pisharody Samajam. Right from 1992-93 this branch has collected 100% subscription & membership fees every year and still continuing to do so. The  following are the main features of Chowwara Unit. 

• Mankakutty pisharassiar memorial awards sponsored by sri. K K Radhakrishnan in memory of his mother are given to the students of 8th, 9th and 10th standards who score the highest marks in the annual examinations. The award amount being Rs.301/-, 401/- and 501/- respectively.
  

• For students who score 2nd and 3rd positions on the basis of marks obtained in the S S L C exam., Samajam gives special awards. 
  

• In this  Silver Jubilee year of the Pisharody Samajam,this unit  has started a marriage register for  members. All marriages of the members of this unit may be registered here and a certificate will be issued which can be used as an authentic proof for passport and other legal matters.
  

• A co-operative scheme has introduced in this branch by which , a member can get loan up to Rs.5000/- to meet any urgent / unexpected expenses on the surety of two committee members at a nominal interest rate.
  

• A special scheme introduced only in this branch  enables a member who joins the scheme by paying Rs.500/- to get RS.1000/- for urgent incidental expenses in case of death to any member of the family. Also all kinds of helps will be done to conduct the final ceremonies of the deceased person. Already 50 families have joined in this scheme.
  

• Honoring members of age 80 and above, conducting pilgrim tours and picnic tours, encouraging the artistic talent of the members, celebrating festivals like Onam etc. are the other activities of Chowwara unit.

Kodakara, the head quarters of this unit situated is situated between Ernakulam and Thrissur on the National Highway, in Thrissur district. 

Scholarships are given by this branch to children of the members of this branch who are studying in 4th ,7th and 10th standards who come out successfully with maximum marks. In addition, Balakrishna Pisharody memorial award, sponsored by Sri Ancheri Chandrasekhara Pisharody  is given to the student,who passed S S L C with highest marks in Mathematics. Also a prize is given by Sri T Bharatha Pisharody who secure Ist prize in Arts and Sports competitions. The unit is also encouraging the talented in arts along with it's annual day celebrations.

Guruvayur, the "Vaikunta on the earth" is the most important pilgrim center of Hindus especially Pisharodies, who are "Vaishnavas" ( worshippers of God Vishnu ).With the blessings of Lord Guruvayoorappan, the working of the Guruvayur branch of Pisharody Samajam is progressing day by day. Due to the religious importance of this place, the central committee of the Pisharody Samajam has decided to construct a guest house at Guruvayoor with the co-operation of all our members under the supervision of this unit after the Silver Jubilee celebrations in May, 2002. Granting educational financial aids for the deserving, encouraging artists are the important activities of this unit.

Kongad unit is the first among Pisharody Samajam units to acquire it's own building. It is one of the biggest units of the samajam which covers 2 Municipalities and 22 Panchayaths. It's headquarters is at Kongad, on the Palakkad - Cherppulassery bus route. In this unit, there are 250 members in Pisharody Samajam, 90 members in the Pisharody Educational & Welfare Society and 140 ' Thulaseedalam ' subscribers. The " Thulasi Award " at the central level for short story is being sponsored by this unit. The other main features are:

The unique service rendered by this unit is conducting  obsequies and annual death anniversary rites for our community. This facility has helped so many members, not only in Kongad and nearby places, but from other districts and  centers out of Kerala also. Those who want this service may please contact the president or treasurer. ( Address below.) The samajam lets out it's building and hall to the public as well as to the Pisharodies. Kongad unit conducts classes on the basis of our "rites book "to educate members about our rites. It also gives educational and medical aids to the needy persons.

Manjeri  branch extends the whole Malappuram revenue district ( except Ponnani taluk ) and is one of the most extensive units of the Samajam. It is also one of the two branches which has not ceased functioning ever since the beginning of the Pisharody Samajam.  The office of the branch is situated at Eravimangalam, Near Perintalmanna, Malappuram Dt.

Three merit awards   are given by this branch to first three students who pass S S L C. Moreover Devaki Pisharassiar memorial award is given to the girl student, who pass S S L C with highest marks. This award is sponsored by Sri. C P Narayanan (Vandana Unni ) in memory of his mother. Also to students who secure selection in professional courses by passing entrance examinations are given a prize of Rs.500/- each by this unit.                                                                                      

This branch organizes arts festival in connection with it's annual day celebrations and conducts pilgrimage trips to various centers every year on April 14th.

Mumbai unit is the largest unit in terms of number of members.  The Unit is a Charitable Organization registered Under Societies Act (Reg No. 317/1984 G.B.B.S.D) and under Public Trust Act (Reg No. F-9588 (Mumbai)). Following are the major achievements of the unit in the field of medical, educational and cultural activities:

Medical Assistance:

Medical assistance is given to the needy member to the tune of Rs.3,000/- per member per annum. Have also assisted number members in case of emergency by collecting special contribution from members. The unit has successfully conducted 2 medical camps for the public in general and has also conducted a Blood Donation camp in association with KEM Hospital.

Educational Assistance & Awards: Educational assistance is given to the needy and deserving children every year. Mumbai unit have constituted the following awards for the children of the members of the unit-

Cultural Wing
The Cultural Wing was formed with a view to bring forward the hidden talents of our children and streamlining the cultural activities of Samjam in 1994. Since then Cultural Wing is conducting annual competitions and Annual celebrations every year.  

Directory
Mumbai unit was one of the first units to release a Directory of the members’ way back in 1986.  Since then it was updated in 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2007.  Those who would like to have a copy of the directory may contact the Secretary or write to mail@pisharodysamajam.com  with a DD/MO in favour of “Pisharody Samajam” payable at Mumbai for Rs.50/- per copy.

Building

It was the desire of the Governing to have an office for the Samajam before the Silver Jubilee in June 2007. By the grace of almighty we were able to purchase a small office at Dombivli area and a portion of the same has been registered in our favour and got inaugurated it on 21st January 2007.
